I recently discovered a handy little tool called the Topsaw Pocket Tool, think of a leather-man multi-tool, except for chainsaws. While I’m not far off in the woods and needing something small to carry with me, I still find this a handy tool to use. I still go back to my truck for gas and oil and have all the assorted tools one would think of having in a truck when working on land, but still find the Topsaw is what I reach for even when there is a full toolbox next to it. Of course in the field I’m really only dealing with chain and bar issues, but it still fits my need. I might have a different opinion if I had a bunch of saws to keep running on a job site, but for me working on my property it fits the need perfectly.
