Now that you’ve cut a quarter acre of brush, so do you do with it? It is surprising how large of a pile you can create. Some of your options are to chip it, burn it, leave it or create a hugelkultur bed.
Personally my approach depends on the type of cuttings. A problem with a lot of the stuff you cut to clear land is that it has a lot of branches and if it is hard to get it to lay flat to build a hugeldultur bed. A chipper can really reduce a big pile of brush to a small pile of chips which can be used as mulch. Burning is probably the worst for the environment, but I have to admin I enjoy a bonfire and have burned a big pile of brush more than once.
