Pecan Trees Spring of 2011?

I’m thinking about planting three pecan trees next spring. It says to plant them 40′ apart so I am going to two of them 20′ south of the northern property line and 40′ apart. The third will be 40′ from each of them as the point of an equilateral triangle. I think three trees will be enough nuts for my family.
